Partner, Mercer Investment Consulting
Jay Love is Mercer’s US Chief Investment Strategist and is based in Atlanta. Jay is responsible for the development and dissemination of investment ideas and strategies to enable Mercer’s clients to meet their investment objectives. Jay works with Mercer’s US and global strategic investment teams to develop and integrate Mercer’s best thinking for our clients.
Jay has previously served as Mercer’s US Investment Leader, US Director of Strategic Research and National Segment Leader for Defined Benefit consulting. His responsibilities also include serving as a senior consultant for large public and private pension plans. Jay has worked with a wide range of clients in his 20+ years with Mercer, ranging from hospital operating assets to sovereign wealth funds.
Jay currently or previously served on a number of research and policy groups for Mercer, including Mercer’s Global and US Investment Policy Committees, which are responsible for developing Mercer’s firm-wide views on current investment issues and guiding the direction of Mercer’s client consulting; Mercer’s Global Strategic Research Committee; US and International Equity Manager Ratings Review Committees, which determines Mercer’s view of specific investment manager strategies; Mercer’s Equity, Alternatives and LDI Strategic Research Teams.
Jay is a contributor to and previously lead Mercer’s US Capital Market Assumptions development process, which is responsible for producing the asset class return and risk assumptions used throughout Mercer in the US, and Jay continues to serve on the US and Global Capital Markets committees. Jay is also involved in the development the economic simulation models and software used in Mercer’s capital market studies.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from Millsaps College. He is a CFA charterholder, and a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and CFA Institute. Jay was named to CIO Magazine’s 2017 and 2018 list of the World’s Most Influential Investment Consultants.
