Nick Allen is a Healthcare Actuary with over 20 years of experience. He’s passionate about blending actuarial sciences with computer programming to build tools that help everybody feel like a healthcare expert.​ Nick was the Lead Actuary for USI’s retail brokerage business for several years prior to Blue Raven. While there, he was responsible for using actuarial expertise and insights to generate new sales opportunities. This was a heavily innovative role and required the creative use of technologies that each of USI’s employee benefits team members already possessed.​ Nick has published several articles, including a cover article on leadership for The Actuary magazine. He has also publicly spoken several times on the benefits of blending actuarial prowess with common technology.​ Nick graduated from Virginia Tech in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He received his Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in December of 2009, is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries. He lives in Virginia with his wife, Catherine and his sons, Preston and Parker.
