Since joining Willis Towers Watson in 2000, Michael has worked in various roles including senior retirement actuary for the Charlotte office, client relationship manager, and project manager. Recent work has included projects in the following areas: - Defined benefit plan redesigns, including plan freeze and plan termination projects - Design and implementation of qualified plans - Development of corporate strategy for retirement plans - Training fellow actuaries in areas such as discrimination testing of qualified plans - Strategy, plan design, and administrative consulting resulting from mergers/acquisitions - Design and implementation of non-qualified executive retirement plans Michael grew up in Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University. He taught mathematics and science in Hawaii and Texas before becoming an actuary. He is an enrolled actuary (EA), an associate with the Society of Actuaries (ASA), and a Fellow with the Conference of Consulting Actuaries (FCA).
