Relevant Experience/Specialization
Aaron Brunson is a health care actuary in WTW’s Health and Benefits line of business. He has more than ten years’ experience in actuarial consulting. Over Aaron’s career, he has consulted clients in many different industries including health care, municipalities, financial services, professional services, hospitality, transportation, and manufacturing in both the middle and large market segment.
Aaron has extensive knowledge and expertise in:
• Financial forecasting including network evaluation, claims and utilization review, and contribution modeling. Additionally, he evaluates funding arrangement, including self-funded feasibility testing or other “hybrid” alternatives
• Leading overall health and welfare strategy discussion by familiarizing himself with the client’s business goals and utilizing the most current market trends, insights, and data to help guide the conversation
• Benchmarking, cost driver analysis, and modifying benefit offerings with implied cost impact which include consumerism strategies
• Involvement in IBNP/IBNR reserve estimates for multiple lines of coverage, Medicare Part D attestation, RDS attestations, and other liability calculations
• Health care reform financial impact and evaluating funding arrangement including self-funded feasibility testing or other “hybrid” alternatives
Role at WTW
Aaron is responsible for overseeing the southeast region’s Financial, Analytics, and Placement teams. He manages the team’s operations to ensure the effective deployment of resources. He partners with other subject matter experts to consider emerging trends and integrate best practices into the region’s workflow, tools, and deliverables. These efforts create a consistent first-class experience for our clients.
Education and Credentials
Aaron holds a B.S. degree in actuarial science from Florida State University. He is an associate of the Society of Actuaries, member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and is licensed in the state of Florida as a life and health agent.
