Brett Dutton is head of institutional strategy and analysis for Vanguard. He leads a team of specialists supporting institutional investors (e.g., pension sponsors and nonprofit organizations) through investment research and analysis, asset-liability modeling, portfolio construction, sector-specific thought leadership, and risk management. Before joining Vanguard in 2016, Mr. Dutton worked at Mercer, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Reams Asset Management, and PNC Institutional Asset Management. Mr. Dutton earned a B.S. (summa cum laude) in mathematics from Grove City College and an M.M. in conducting from The Pennsylvania State University. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a CFA® charterholder, and an enrolled actuary under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).
