Alberto Fornaro brings more than 20 years of strong financial expertise to NRG, with an extensive record of significant international and multi-industry exposure. He is the former Chief Financial Officer of Coupang, the e-commerce market leader in Korea, recently listed on the NYSE. Prior to Coupang, he spent almost nine years as EVP/CFO at International Gaming Technology (IGT), where he was responsible for planning and managing overall financial strategy at the company and its predecessor, Gtech. He oversaw the entire finance organization (accounting, financial planning, treasury, tax and investor relations) and was also responsible for strategy and M&A, legal, compliance, audit, and IT functions with the ultimate goal of maximizing shareholder value and cash flow generation. Before IGT, Alberto was Group CFO and President of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) division at Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment (DICE), a world leader in the construction equipment industry formed by Bobcat and Doosan Infracore. Alberto holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Banking from the University of Siena, Italy; a two-year post-graduate degree (equivalent to a master’s degree) in Banking and Finance from the University of Siena’s Post Graduate School in Banking; and was a Visiting Scholar at the Ph.D. Program in Economics at Columbia University, New York. In 2019, he graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and holds dual citizenship (U.S. and Italy).
