Terri Bauer currently leads the Value Based Contracting Actuarial & Underwriting team, responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the local market actuarial and underwriting teams for value-based solutions such as ACOs and JVs. Before taking over this team in August 2017, she led Actuarial & Underwriting support specifically for Aetna's joint venture activity, providing thought leadership and consultative solutions for building strong value-based provider partnerships. Prior to this, Terri spent several years as Aetna’s Northeast Regional Actuary leading the plan market actuaries for Aetna's Northeast region, and several years leading the Medical Performance and Risk Analysis unit in the Core Commercial MEU, producing trend analysis, predictive modeling, and medical cost and trend commentary for Aetna’s quarterly earnings calls. Terri joined Aetna in 2005 from CIGNA, and has over 25 years’ experience as a health actuary. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and is an active volunteer with the SOA, having presented numerous times at the Health and Annual meetings. Terri holds a BS in Mathematics from Penn State, and she and her husband have three children, a 16 year old son and two daughters aged 14 and 11 years old. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, serves as treasurer for the middle school PTO in town, and tries not to trip over the rescue Chihuahua and the Netherland dwarf rabbit who are constantly chasing each other around her house.
