Medicaid - Current Issues
March 11, 2015 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM
As the ACA continues its implementation, state Medicaid programs continue to face significant challenges related to providing healthcare access to low income and disabled individuals. These agencies continue to be under pressure from the public and state legislatures to find ways to do more with less funding. Whether through Medicaid expansion, long term care rebalancing, or Managed Care, states must continually look for ways to provide the most cost effective coverage for individuals. The presenters examine some of the most pressing issues facing state Medicaid programs in this changing healthcare environment and discuss how some states are handling these challenges through innovative program restructuring, waivers, and provider reimbursement changes.
