Kelsey Mayo is the Regulatory Affairs Chief for the American Retirement Association. In this role she works with the government agencies that impact ARA members, with a particular focus on the IRS and PBGC. Kelsey also is the Lead Employee Benefits Partner at Poyner Spruill, LLP, a law firm based in North Carolina. Kelsey has extensive experience in virtually all aspects of employee benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements. Prior to taking on the role of Director of Regulatory Affairs, Kelsey was a long-time volunteer on both the ASPPA and ASEA (formerly ACOPA) Government Affairs Committee. Along with her passion for the industry, Kelsey brings her background in accounting and study for the actuarial exams to bear for the benefit of ARA and its members.
