Experience Highlights: Tom Swain is a Findley principal and a member of the firm’s management committee. He has been a principal in the firm since 1987 and has more than 25 years experience in the design, funding, administration and regulatory compliance of retirement and nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
Tom is a frequent speaker on retirement plan issues at industry and actuarial conferences. In addition to his speaking engagements, Tom regularly publishes articles on retirement and related employee benefits issues.
He has an in-depth understanding of—and is highly skilled in implementing—the complex rules and regulations inherent in qualified retirement plans. His clients comprise a variety of employers, including governmental entities, not-for-profit and for-profit private employers. He also has experience and expertise in providing consulting services for companies involved in mergers and acquisitions.
Education and Professional Designations: Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned membership in Phi Beta Kappa. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary.
Memberships: Tom is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow and a former Board Member of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
