Larry Pollack’s career includes 20+ years in the actuarial and retirement consulting industry as a senior retirement consultant with Watson Wyatt and Towers Perrin followed by nine years in the asset management industry, most recently with Goldman Sachs, which he left in late 2020. He is currently principal at LIP Consulting, LLC.
He has worked with clients in several industries including not-for-profit health care, banking, automotive, steel, insurance, electric utility, other industrial, and religious organizations. He has expertise in qualified and non-qualified corporate retirement plans, 403(b) plans, public pension plans, and multiemployer plans.
He served a term on the Pension (now Retirement) Section Council of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), and was a member of the Pension Finance Task Force, jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Actuaries and the SOA. He is currently a member of the SOA Aging and Retirement Program Steering Committee and serves on several other SOA project groups. .
He authored a paper on the PBGC presented at a 2005 SOA symposium and co-authored a working paper on applying Financial Economics to public pension plans presented at the 2015 SOA investment symposium.
