Matt is a Partner and serves as the Business Leader for the Philadelphia Wealth business. Matt joined Mercer in 2007 from another professional services firm. He has worked on a wide range of pension funding, design, accounting, and investment strategy projects for sponsors of all asset sizes. He specializes in the area of pension risk management, helping organizations measure, mitigate, and monitor their pension risk exposure.
Matt has also served as Mercer's US DB Risk Leader, driving the development of intellectual capital and ensures that clients receive Mercer's best thinking around pension risk management. He provides integrated actuarial and investment advice to plan sponsors, from strategy to implementation and ongoing management services. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on pension risk topics, and has been quoted by numerous sources including The Wall Street Journal, Pensions & Investments, Bloomberg, Associated Press, and the New York Times.
Matt is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), an Enrolled Actuary (EA), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He received his Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Maryland at College Park.
