Ms. Adams maintains a broad benefits litigation practice, representing plan sponsors, fiduciaries, service providers, and others in a variety of participant class actions, cases involving employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), and alleged actuarial malpractice matters, among many other types of cases. Ms. Adams also advises and litigates retiree benefits issues, both within and outside of bankruptcy. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Adams represents targets of Department of Labor investigations and advises single and multiemployer plans with respect to funding and restructuring issues. Her advising practice has recently focused on representing clients seeking to apply the new tools available to troubled multiemployer plans under the Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014.
