Chris
Smith
Senior Health and Benefits Actuarial Associate, Mercer
Chris Smith is a senior consultant with Mercer's Actuarial and Financial Group, supporting self-funded clients of all sizes in optimizing and orienting their total rewards budget toward results.
Beyond his core role consulting with clients directly over the past five years, Chris has emerged within Mercer as a thought leader in the areas of affordability strategy and DE&I, contributing as a member of Mercer's Center for Health Innovation and to multiple ad hoc intellectual capital/tool development efforts along the way.
In his capacity as a member of the Society of Actuaries, Chris volunteers on the councils of the Society's "Actuary of the Future" and "Entrepreneurship & Innovation" sections, responsible for supporting the journey of aspiring actuaries and fostering innovation in the actuarial profession (respectively).
Chris earned his B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics alongside a B.A. in Economics from Stony Brook University in 2016, and is actively pursuing a Master's in Data Science at the University of Colorado Boulder alongside his FSA credential.
