Senior Vice President & Actuary, Segal
Expertise - Mr. Romello is a Senior Vice President and Actuary in Segal’s Washington, DC office with over 30 years of professional actuarial experience. As the firm’s Multiemployer Retirement Practice Leader and a member of its Multiemployer Leadership Group, he leads strategic planning initiatives for multiemployer services and product and service development.
Mr. Romello serves as Enrolled Actuary and/or Consultant to multiemployer plans throughout the mid-Atlantic region, as well as two national multiemployer plans. His responsibilities have included: co-management of the Washington, DC actuarial staff; co-management of the Washington, DC Retirement Practice; the development of internal procedures to satisfy the Continuing Professional Education credit requirements of Segal’s actuarial staff; and membership in the company’s Actuarial Policy Committee.
Professional Background - Before joining The Segal Company’s Washington, DC office in 1979, Mr. Romello was a high school mathematics teacher and Department Chairperson.
Education/Professional Designations - Mr. Romello holds a BS in Mathematics from Bloomsburg University. He is a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Mr. Romello is a member of the Enrolled Actuaries Program Committee and has also served as a member and Chairman of the Pension Committee of the Actuarial Standards Board for the American Academy of Actuaries.
Published Works/Speeches - Mr. Romello has spoken at annual meetings of the Enrolled Actuaries, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the National Labor & Management Conference, the Made in American Conference and the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans. He has authored multiple articles published in Employee Benefit News.
