Jay K. Egelberg has over 30 years of experience in benefits consulting, helping clients address design, funding, compliance, administration, and communication issues. Since 1993, he has been focusing on multiemployer pension plans and has experience with all sizes of funds in a wide variety of industries, including manufacturing, building and construction, entertainment, retail, and transportation. Jay is a frequent speaker at trustee- and professional-education conferences and author on issues relating to funding under the Pension Protection Act of 2006 and withdrawal liability. He is a contributing editor of the Journal of Pension Benefits. Jay has also championed mentoring and training programs for actuarial students and has been a frequent speaker at the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans’ interns program. Beginning in 2012, he was seated as a member of the International Foundation’s Professionals Committee.
Jay is an associate of the Society of Actuaries, a fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and an enrolled actuary under ERISA. He holds a B.A. in music and physics from Queens College of the City University of New York.
