Carrie is an consulting actuary with the Portland office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2012 and has her ASA, EA, MAAA as well as a Masters in Applied Math from UW. Carrie focuses solely on multiemployer pension plans, serving as a consultant on several plans. She works closely with clients on all aspects of pension plan management, including actuarial valuations, funding projections, plan design studies and implementation, experience studies, funding strategies, legislative impact studies, plan administration, and participant communications. She is one of the primary developers of Milliman’s Online Projection Model and Information Center (OPTIC). Carrie’s experience is in defined benefit plans, with emphasis on multiemployer pension plans. Some of her recent projects include: • Developing and implementing alternative plan designs • Developing and monitoring rehabilitation and funding improvement plans • Consulting on funding and benefits policies • Consulting on withdrawal liability procedures and determinations • Performing risk analysis for multiemployer pension plans, including stochastic projections • Analyzing multiemployer plan mergers • Modeling legislative changes • Developing communications to plan participants
