Jim Hong is a healthcare analytics consultant in the Chicago office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2018.
Jim has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry leading analytical teams and developing data and technological solutions for payers, ACOs and healthcare startups. He has successfully established efficient and scalable processes, products, and teams by combining a general manager’s frame-of-mind with technical aptitude.
Prior to joining Milliman, Jim was the managing director of financial analytics for a startup where he assisted providers in adopting value-based care. He set the vision for the analytics team and led development of adaptable solutions that scaled with the company’s growth, leading to IPO. Before working with younger healthcare companies, Jim started his career in the industry in the innovation center of a leading national Fortune 100 payer. While there, he helped transform consumer analytics and predictive modeling from incubated ideas to a fully-fledged data science consulting team.
Jim’s expertise includes setting strategy and protocols for data processing, architecting Enterprise Data Warehouses, blueprinting analytical reporting processes, and making data science effective. He is experienced in working with a wide variety of technology systems, from established environments to nascent, cloud-only deployments. He also works with data, including claims, patient demographics, and behavior and wellness activity.
