In this CCA retirement series webinar, presenters discuss recent trends in Defined Benefit plan design. For the last several years, pension plans were lowering member benefits and risk sharing features were gaining popularity. Recently, however, a trend towards benefit improvements for plan members is emerging with some defined benefit plans considering increases in benefit multipliers, lowering of eligibility requirements and adding or increasing COLAs. Some closed plans have even been considering what it would cost to reopen. The presenters will provide some statistics and discuss the current trends in plan design for Corporate, Governmental and Multiemployer plans.
